The prince thinks he is not one of its greatest assets. Even though he came to India, he is surprised to find that Indians do not appreciate his princely virtues. He is deceived by a powerful business class and its petty politicians. Tagore’s play, Tasher Desh is India’s ”Plato’s Republic.”’ The people have broken away from the princely family and who are happy living with their simple ways. But the prince is still proud of his charisma Although he misses his role of a prince as a king, spirituality, and even humanity more. He refuses to accept his place in history as a mere ruler even though there is no choice left but to do so. He is painfully trying to hide his sentimental feelings for his subjects and is even ready to turn a blind eye to their weaknesses. Mostly, he fails in his attempts.
