it doesn’t have the term ‘web’ in it. it is not as complicated or as powerful. A good alternative is Picasso CS6 , which is free. It’s what I use, but it does not include as many options or power of the Elements version, so you won’t get all the latest features, but it’s a solid editor.
my sister has used Piccolo for years to make both web and print designs. there are great learning curves and lots of features, but it’s very powerful if you are willing to study the learning curves. It looks and feels like the big brother and they’re both free and listed on the Adobe website…so I’d check out what they have to offer.
Sorry to see that the royalty free features of the Elements “regional” Photoshop have been taken away. It used to be simple to work in Photoshop and have the original file open and work on the regional file without needing to do a complicated “convert” and export process. Now you have to export as a regional file first, then open the original file. This is much more work and not very convenient…
